Catacombs:
Kryschenn has found piece one of the Staff, and sings to herself as she seeks out her lost comrades.
The others are still escaping from the umberhulk...
Dungeons:
Zak, Kimmy, and Bubbles chat about stuff- Kimmy reveals she knows about
other ways into the catacombs! Tommy chats with Tolan and reveals
the OTHER Tommy was Venger's spy. Bubbles forces Zak into some embarassing
revelations about her past as Zak tries to discuss escape with Sterling.
Tolan comes into the dungeon and addresses the prisoners, cleverly filling
them in on the current situation without telling them outright. Night
Steel is dreaming through it, discussing with dream figures where his loyalties
lay. After Tolan leaves, Sterling busts everyone out, then takes
the portal back to the Swamp to aid his friends. The rest of the
dungeon group discuss where to go next.
Macula:
The gang is still gathered in the Inn. This is the previous day
in relation to the rest of the RP. Abigail explains to Jaina and
Trunks about Blaze.
Swamp group:
Alexia has just been awoken by antoher dousing by Stormbringer, who's just finished binding her in metal this time.
Ashleyien and Deathsinger banter for a bit, Ash challenging Death to a duel and Death laughing in her face and abusing her. Deathsinger also details the plan, to set a trap for the others in Mind Flayer's enchanted grove. Ash then tries a new tact, and feigns hopelessness and admits Deathsinger is the better warrioress. Death, pleased and fooled, spins out the origins of the Regulators: that they are created out of the magic of the swamp as part of its dark magic. For every traveler to enter, a negative version of themselves appears to do battle with them. As she speaks, Soul Reaper and Widow Maker are born before Ash's eyes, the dark shadows of Tariane and Day Dreamer. Ash asks about Tuculcha and how she fits into all this, but Deathsinger is distracted by Dan's shout.
Meanwhile, the leftover adventurers try to plan a rescue. Spud remains lost in the woods, but is heading in the right direction thanks to Tuculcha, who certainly has had enough of adventurers in her castle for a day. Thoth, healed and feeling magical again, scouts out the woods and evades a drow sentry. Taraine appears, a blonde newcomer with magical daggers directed there by DM, and offers her assistance. The plan is for Thoth to distract the guard while Dan takes him out. Taraine suggests Cadbury be the distraction, but Thoth conjures a whispering bubble to distract the guard instead. Things are going well until another newcomer, Day Dreamer, charges straight into Mankiller's path. Mankiller attacks, but is paralyzed by Thoth's magic. Dan calls for Kinslayer to come out, that Mankiller's down.
CATACOMBS under Yarfell:
Kryschenn, still wandering alone, begins singing bawdy songs to keep her spirits up. When she hears the next verse being sung not far away, she's greatly relieved- someone from Earth has found her! But it's Kimy, whose unpredictable magic ring has blipped her into the catacombs unexpectedly, and Kryschenn questions her for information about the gang who'd gone to Venger's castle.
Anna-Moe has gotten most of the gang past the umberhulk using her teleportation.
She offers Fairalin a lift, but Fiaralin declines since she can't keep
up her shield during teleportation.
DUNGEONS of Yarfell:
After the gang had escaped from their cells and Sterling had left for the Swamp, they noticed that Iris and Steel were missing.
Night Steel was in the throes of a horrible dream, but manages to wake himself. Iris, however, had had an encounter with Baras, and learned something more of her heritage from a mysterious visitor named Hadden, who frees her of her cell and takes her into the catacombs for a private chat. Sheila looked for her but could not find her ((Iris is still down there, in the upper levels of the catacombs, waiting for the rest of the gang when they get there)).
Zakiyah decided she had to leave, because too much knowledge of their plans might be harmful to them if she were interrogated by people who disliked the Outworlders. She followed Lord Tolan as he learned of a new problem in Yarfell- a blind prophet who was inciting more anger against the Outworlders and calling for a revolt. Tolan sent a page to inform Adelain (EO) of this new development so she could warn her friends in the dungeons, and sent outside to quell the violence and arrest the prophet. He was attacked by the prophet's two bodyguards. Zak, who had meant only to observe, jumped in front of Tolan and took an arrow for him, which apparently killed her (though anyone who knows her from prior experience will realize she's only...mostly dead. Big difference between mostly dead and all dead, you know...).
Kimmy, who was trying to tell the rest of them what she'd found in her previous explorations in the catacombs, accidentally gets zapped there by her ring. ((Where she meets up with Kryschenn)).
As for the rest of the gang, they're currently hanging around deciding
what to do next.
SWAMP group:
Ash, still uncomfortably bound and taunted by Deathsinger, sings "Three Blind Mice" to warn her rescuers of how many drow are in the clearing.Upon hearing the drow's explanation of their origin, Alexia wonders what the swamp intended, creating an adversary for herself...for SHE had no intention of freeing Gareth herself! Her nemesis blasts her with water again, just for the heck of it, and the two women wait to be rescued....
Meanwhile, the others in the gang are planning the rescue. Thoth has begun the spell to turn them all invisible (dispite the distraction of flirtacious Taraine clinging to him;)....), after Sterling hears about the current situation. As they prepare to go, Spud joins them and introduces himself.
The drow begin to seek out their enemies. Skullsplitter finds the frozen Mankiller, and Dan leaps on her, breaking bones in her shoulder. Heidi joines the fight against her, and Mindflayer zaps them both with a fireball. Spud drags Heidi away and they regroup. Kinslayer offers a truce, something the adventurers view with more than a little skepticism...
Dan gets smacked with an arrow and captured. Kinslayer threatens to torture him if the others don't surrender. Dan has other plans, though (or at least his whip does...). His whip catches WidowMaker around the neck and begins choking her. Kinslayer's having none of his threats, though, but does offer (with total sincerity, I'm sure) to let them live if Dan lets her go.
Spud steps in and his little tools fashion ropes and binds out of vines,
and wrap up Kinslayer and his companions. He suggests a hasty retreat.
Thoth, Taraine, and Sterling, meanwhile, are sneaking into the grove to rescue Ash and Alexia. Taraine's thoughts betray a far more subtle nature than what she'd shown in her outward act of a giggling, flirting blonde.
Ashleyien continues to talk loudly, letting the rescuers in on more
information. Deathsinger's not happy and slaps her again, but their
banter is distracting enough for Sterling (still invisible) to sneak up
and clock her into unconsciousness. The other two are poised to take
on Sorrowspinner and Stormbringer. Sterling cuts Ash free.
MACULA:
Cole, Glitter, & Carrie are en route to Macula. Cole, exhausted, fell asleep and dreams of comforting a fallen, dying warrior- who becomes a skeleton. Upon leaving the woods of his dream, he sees a terrible sight....
In Macula, Sunny, Abigail, Trunks, and Jaina prepare for sleep.
Matthew goes to arrange for rooms, glaring jealously at Trunks on the way
out.
DUNGEONS of YARFELL:
Everyone (you too, Steel) is free of their cells, and deciding what they should do next. Bubbles saw in her mirror that Evil Tommy had shown the previous group the entrance to the catacombs, and Tommy suggests that they hide there, look for the staff, and avoid being caught again by the guards once their escape is discovered. At that point, EO comes running down the stairs to inform them of the mob currently outside calling for their blood!
The mob outside attacked after Zakiyah was shot, and Tolan, battling
Zharvash's accolytes, was wounded with a dagger. But Dungeonmaster
appeared, rebuking and shaming the mob back into reason. Tolan and
Zak were returned to the castle for healing. Zak, whose body lies
in magical stasis at the moment, had a little chat with her god, who gave
her a new task as pennance for breaking her neutrality and getting herself
skewered (he really gets annoyed when he has to fix up his clerics).
MEANWHILE, in the CATACOMBS under YARFELL:
Everyone has safely passed the umberhulk, except Fairalin and Eric, who seem to be a little more uncomfortable at the thought of flying across in each other's arms than they might otherwise be. Presto and co. urge them to hurry, as the umberhulk is running out of gremlins and there's still staff pieces to find.
Meanwhile, Kryschenn and Kimmy have encountered a little girl in the passageway, a stranger from another world besides earth named Isadorra. Her companion, Adrick, is a shapeshifting creature she calls a daemon. Kryschenn isn't quite sure what to make of her and her talk of demons, but Kimmy's delighted at the thought of a shapeshifting pet. Kimmy is also getting whispers that nobody else can hear, and they are telling her to go to Macula.
OUTSIDE MACULA:
Cole is still in the throes of a nightmare about a mysterious man in white, who is torturing people in heinous ways. GLitter, riding next to him on Uni, is unaware of Cole's nightmare and envies him the ability to sleep- he's currently got insomnia.
MACULA:
The gang in Macula ((who is currently still on the evening of the previous
day)) has bedded down for the night. ((Their next thread can pick
up in the morning around the time that Cole and Glitter arrive, if they
like)).
IN THE SWAMP:
((These guys post so quickly there's no way I can do it justice....they
can post corrections if I make mistakes...))
Alexia and Ashleyien have been, if not rescued, at least untied, while Dan, Spud, and Heidi distract the other Regulators.
Dan, whose whip had been strangling Widow Maker, was shot by an arrow. Spud had knotted their foes in vines, but Mind Flayer frred them with a spell and shot a fireball at the fleeing trio. Spud drags Dan away as Heidi charges back to hole them off.
Meanwhile, Taraine, Thoth, and Sterling are dealing with the rescue of Ash and Alexia. Taraine is a bit annoyed with Sterling, and sticks very close to Thothalas (whose smarting hand makes him wishe that he'd paid more attention to his Uncle Spockulus's martial arts training- a neck pinch would have come in handy about then...). Alexia, drenched and shivering, gives Stormbringer a kick of annoyance, to the taunts of the new Drow nemesis, this one a dark version of Zak named War Scribe. War scribe doesn't seem to interested in helping or hindering either side of the conflict, so long as it's bloody and entertaiing.
((Though it's an OOC post, I have to include Tann's suggestion--- the Dark version of Cadbury. "That rabbit's got a vicious streak a Mile Wide! It's a Killer! Woah, it's got cruel.... very sharp... LOOK AT THE BONES!!!"))
Sterling orders a surly Tariene to warm poor Alexia, who grudgingly does so, while he, Thoth, and Ashleyien went to help Dan and the others.Thoth's grandfather's quill blasts two of the drow gang, but his counterpart retaliates with an electric fireball. Thoth takes the blast to protect Cadbury, who is caught by Mind Flayer! The war mage tries to drain her magic energy. Cadbury reverses the spell, and when the mage tries to stab her, Thoth is galled into action- and his spell kills the mage in a spectacular, head-exploding fashion!
Meanhile Heidi and her counterpart, SoulReaper, are going at it with a flurry of blows- ending when Heidi strikes off SoulReaper's head! Kinslayer (Sterling's nemesis) attacked Heidi in fury, but Sterling stepped in to take him on, killing him after a furious battle. Sterling was sorely wounded in the gut, however, and was rather appalled at the power of his own magic sword.
Blood Axe took on Ashleyien, who used her newfound powers to wrap him in vines and knock him on the noggin, leaving him down for the count.
Heidi tries to put out the smouldering Thothalas, unconscious after his battle with the war mage. She gets two arrows in the shoulder, but Dawn steps in (or rather, jumps down from a tree) wrapping Widow Maker's neck with rope and hanging her! Heidi is unconscious from the pain of the arrows.
Back in the claring, Taraine and Alexia get a warning from WAr Scribe that Skull Splitter is about to attack them. Skull Splitter deals Taraine an identical injury, and both of them are rather annoyed at War Scribe, who is evidently gleefully recording their fight and has no intention of helping either of them. Taraiene's fireball sets half the clearing ablaze, but the two are too busy grappling to notice. Alexia puts it out, though, and catches SkullSplitter in a firey trap. Taraine finishes her off with a dagger.
Dan tries to help Thoth and Cadbury, and Ash reaches them in time to heal them both a little bit, to prevent their death. She's too drained to do any more, even for Sterling, who passes out from his wound. Spud is trying to protect Heidi, who is also in bad shape.
At this point I'm not sure how many drow are left, but only Taraine,
Spud, Alexia, and Ashleyien are still unharmed.
