The portal to adventure is open, and about a dozen of our Yarfallian's are headed off to fight Venger. Which, conveniently enough, leaves just five left behind in Yarfell, DM's original number.
Tommy's currently locked in a room with Shadowdemon, who has orders to kidnap him.
Yodel, worried about his daughter and perhaps a little mistrustful of the otherworlders, offers to send more experienced warriors with those battling Venger. Currenly he's been talked down to one, though Bubbles is beginning to view his motives with suspicion.
Fairalin is awake from her dream of Morgana Le Fay, and upset that her friend Cole is off to battle Venger. She herself opts to stay with Kryschenn, Tommy, Cassandra, and Zeo.
Zak's making noises about taking off to warn the swamp crew about Terry's
dream, once she's done sending the Venger crew to their destination.
She's worried about what her involvement in all this will cost her.
Yarfallians:
Fairalin made a bunch of posts to an earlier thread, in which she notices
Zak's frightened, Tommy's not quite himself, and Bubbles is awfully good
at what she does....*grin* She's also planning on doing a bit of
super-sleuthing around the castle, especially in the late Lady Reskya's
library.
Tommy is most certainly not himself, as he appears to be in two places at once. wheras his more "innocent" incarnation has just been zapped, perhaps kidnapped, by Shadowdemon, his less pleasant aspect has just been smooched by Bubbles and is currently chatting with Cassandra (after completing a dubious, still unnamed task).
Kryschenn requested permission to visit Lady Reskya's room. Yodel,
who stayed behind in Yarfell with his two remaining bodyguards, claims
that Lord Droth has threatened him and thinks Droth is behind all the nasty
goings-on in Yarfell. He convinces Kryschenn to accompany him to
Droth's stronghold. Kryschenn realizes several things there: 1. she
has a Scottish
accent that pops up unpredictably; 2. She didn't TELL anyone where
she was going; 3. Most of the city's populace now thinks she's Yodel's
mistress; and 4. Droth's stronghold is eerily dark and quiet.....
Meanwhile, near Venger's Castle:
((We are assuming for the moment that the groups have not yet split up....not until Bubbles is finished "playing" with her new toys, anyway *grin*))
Rose came up with an ingenius way to sneak into Venger's castle- by waltzing right through the front gates, disguised as traveling performers. She chose those whom Venger had not yet encountered, including herself, and equipped them all with her illusions. Iris played a song that convinced a nearby herd'o'horses to give them a lift.
Those playing the parts of the wandering performers prepare for their journey: Kimmy, Bubbles, rose, EO, Fay, Iris, Zanthia, and Sheila (cloaked).
Bubbles, whose suspiciuos have been raised by both Yodel and his two goons who insisted on accompanying them, hooks Salmack and Halphas with her deadly charms, to get them to spill their tale. Salmack takes the bait and is left screaming on the ground.
Night Steel is showing a little wariness of Bubbles at this point, and is considering intervening. He does not share her suspicion of Yodel & Co.
Cole, meanwhile, has established a telepathic link with Iris, so that
the gang can keep in touch. He's also just realized that Zaki didn't
give them a portal back. Iris, rooting through her songbook, has
just discovered a cashe of songs she KNOWS will amuse Venger to no end,
as they are a collection of Realmish filk that bash the Young Ones' foibles
and faults.
Meanwhile, IN Venger's castle:
A 17 year old kid from Earth was unfortunatly shot through a portal,
and landed in front of Venger. He was immediatly tossed into a cell
of Venger's dungeon. After having been there for who knew how long,
a little girl was ushered into the cell as well, and left there.
She matches the description of Yodel's daughter....but all is not what
it seems....
And that's the News from the Realm, for these folks anyway....How are the swamp folks doing? We left them with a cliffhanger. Literally.

Okeydoke....Kryschenn already explained what's up with the Yarfallians: Everything that happened, happened. Fairalin is currenly comforting Kryschenn, who is not taking the news that she's a berserker very well. Nobody else knows where they are at the moment, though hopefully Fairalin will get poor Krys out of that house soon!
Cassandra is playing 20 Questions with Tanaka in the Princess's throne room. Nobody has yet guessed that Tommy's missing, and nobody knows exactly what happened in that little room after Tommy's confrontation with Shadowdemon. Sailor Zeo is also presumably still in the throne room, and might be overhearing this conversation. (you still with us, Zeo?)
Zakiyah blipped off to her library after leaving the means to summon her with Tanaka. Probably not the brightest move on her part, but she was a bit distracted. *l* She found the swamp crew and landed in the middle of a fight with some giant bats. The fight ended quickly thereafter- Toth made a magic sheild of fire (with Cadbury's help), Dan captured a bat alive, and Ashleyein and Sterling took out the rest. Sterling's injuries might be graver than he's let on, for he also had the fall from the cliff to contend with (after which he had a really interesting dream). Zak is going to fill them in on the Yarfell situation, the staffs, and Terry's dream.
The Venger's castle crew has split up into two parts, but before they took off, Bubbles began to question the two guards' roles in this adventure. They learned that Yodel and his guards were indeed traitorous, but the would-be assasins killed themselves before revealing anything more. The groups are free to split up now, into the group who will try to infiltrate Venger's castle (the performers) and the backup crew.
Night Steel, of the backup crew, has found a crystal of unknown properties.
Keith is a new NPC (belonging to Rod/Night Steel). He's sharing a cell in Venger's dungeon with a little girl that resembles the discription of Ingeld, but who acts awfully funny for a little girl...but good or evil, we don't know yet.
FYI, those on the Venger missions are located in the Black Hills, so called because they were singed black by dragonfire. Rose has the full story in her post, leaving those staying behind for the backup mission to explore the ruins left behind.
Kayla, in Macula, has been asking questions about the red dragon, and
learns that Venger wants it because of an orb. She isn't certain
whether this is the orb that the Yarfallian's were seeking (is can't be-
Venger has that one already), or whether the dragon is guarding the orb,
or Venger needs the dragon to work the orb, or what....(lots of plot potential
there!)
The time is early evening of Day 2. Nightfall will occurr soon.
(I assume tht the backup crew mission will try to break into V's castle
under cover of darkness.) Iris and Cole are telepathically linked,
and Sheila is cloaked and expected to return to the backup crew with a
message at some point after the performers are inside.
