Macula:
The gang (Jaina, Sunny, Matthew, Trunks, and Abigail) has converged
in Sunny's room at the Inn. Sunny has taken a bit of a liking to
Trunks, much to Matthew's dismay. Sunny still hasn't discovered the
effects of her perfume, yet, but it looks like it might be working on Trunks
as well....
Catacombs of Yarfell:
Kryschenn, lost and alone, is in dire straits- apparently she has a
heart condition she didn't tell anyone else about, and without medication,
she's having a bout of tachycardia (which, I believe, means your heart's
racing very fast).
The rest of the gang is still in a battle with the umberhulk, which is currently distracted and gnawing on some gremlins. ((My earlier summary was somewhat lacking in accuracy, but the main change is this: the gremlins didn't carry off Kcryshenn- a fireball did. A magic fireball identical to the one that mysteriously swept Tanaka away....))
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yarfell- in the castle (And Venger's Castle Ruins too, those by
the portal):
Bubbles, Eo, and Sterling (as well as Hank, Sheila, Bobby, and Ingeld) have popped into the throneroom of the castle. It's nearly dawn, now, and few people are up and about- except for the palace guards, of course, who capture first Bubbles and EO, and then prepare to attack Sterling. Sterling wisely surrenders.
Lord Tolan and the Wizard Echlar have conspired such that the prisoner's escape has gone undetected for most of the night. Upon the captain's discovery of the missing prisoners, Tolan and Echlar went to the dungeons and simply knocked out the two men who'd seen it (the new captain and his subordinate), and Echlar altered their memory. Tolan is currently bawling them out for falling alseep on duty, but fears that when the nwe prisoners, Sterling, Bubbles, and EO are escorted into the dungeons, the escape of the first batch of Outworlders will finally be noticed....
On the other side of the portal, near the ruins of the fortress, Cole
points out that maybe dropping a Drow swordsman into the middle of Yarfell's
court might not be a great idea. Zak sheepishly agrees- it's certainly
not goint to win any points for Outworlders to show up with an evil elf,
nevermind that Sterling's pretty OK (for a drow, anyway...*wink*).
Cole plans to try to escape the castle guards and ride off to Macula to
warn Kayla about the growing bad feelings toward Outworlders, and has stepped
into the portal to do so.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Swamp group:
The swamp gang have their hands full at the moment. A buncha
drow elves with great names (Deathsinger, Kinslayer, Blood Axe, etc.) are
attacking them!
The newcomer, Spud, finds that he posesses a really neat weapon- tools that carve out stuff for him from nearby trees and rocks. He makes himself a rough wooden sheild with them. Then, going on the defensive, he attacks Blood Axes's big axe. (Blood Axe will now hereafter be referred to as Blood Big-Spoon). Spud is flung back by Mind Flayer's fireball, and uses his weapon to try to topple a tree on the mage.
Blood Axe is now joining the fight against Ashleyien, who's exchanging verbal taunts with Deathsinger. Ashleyien's discovered a weakness of the drow- insults make them angry enough to fight rashly- and is using it to her advantage.
Thothalas blasts Kinslayer with his antique lightning quill, but it doesn't stop Kinslayer for long. Thoth makes what has to be the funniest move yet. "Listen, Mister Tough Guy! You've terrorized my friends for the last time. I didn't want to do this. I mean we are all elves under the skin after all. Elves united and all that but... but you just pushed my buttons! You forced my hand; I'm bringing my bunny into this fight, and she eats Bad Asses for breakfast!" Cadbury, still recovering from the great portal casting, is not exactly terrifying at the moment.
Alexia, finding herself very low on magic and deluged by a water spell cast by Stormbringer, uses lightning to zap the annoying drow mage. She is captured at last, bound, and carried off.
Dan, who was earlier flattened by another fireball, finds that Mankiller
is trying to drown him! Dan fakes being dead, then attacks Mankiller
with his whip. Mankiller goes invisible.
((FYI: everyone on the 2 Venger's castle quests has at this point returned to Yarfell, except for Rosalia. If you didn't post it don't worry- you'll be hanging out with the main group in the dungeons by default. *g*))
Apart from Cole, Glitter, and Carrie, who have made a break for the stables with the intention of riding off to warn Kayla (whom they do not know is dead at this point), almost everyone else has been apprehended and dragged off to meet Lord Tolan in the dungeons. Tolan has his hands full trying to prevent the escape of the previous bunch of Outworlders from becomming common knowledge, and now the beleagured fellow is trying to deal with this new influx of Outworlders by tossing them in the dungeons too, until such time as he can get a private word with them.
Bubbles, the first to be caught, also narrowly escapes an intimate "searching" by the guards (the rationale being, what weapon she could possibly hide under her current garb- Venger's oversized tank top and boxers?) I believe she still has Zak's quill, though, which she might find comes in useful....(if she were to, say, draw a door on the wall, for example....) Tolan hears from Bubbles that Venger's fortress collapsed and Venger himself was missing a body, and promises to get her more comfortable clothing for her dungeon stay. Bubbles gets the impression Tolan's on their side....and also that Tolan is quite a handsome fellow himself. Meorrow!
Adelaine (EO in disguise) convinces Tolan that SHE, being an elf, is no Outworlder (since Earth doesn't have any elves). Sterling tells the truth about his bizarre heritage, actions with the swamp folks, and his escapades with Venger, and is tossed in the brig with the others. Hank, Sheila, and Bobby arrive next with Ingeld, Bobby looking mighty annoyed about Terri's imprisonment, but Tolan convinces him Terri and the others are unharmed. He sends Ingeld off with Adelaine to look after her.
Cole, Glitter, and Carrie pop through next, and take off for the stables. As there is a lot of confusion going on, they might actually make it. :)
Iris, whose elvish lute has continued it's "elvification" of her physical appearance, escapes the tender ministrations of a guard with an elf fetish, and is escorted to the dungeon by another, treated to a tale of dishonorable conduct along the way (and reassured that Baras will find his..er...you know...going the way of Venger's if he tries anything). She admits that she IS an outworlder (which will of course put Adelaine back under suspicioun when Tolan hears this).
Night Steel stunned the guards with powder and hid in a secret broom closet, watching Zak and presumably everyone else (the stragglers) get arrested.
Tommy is alive! though he's covered with dust and grime, he stumbles out of the wreckage and is shoved through the portal by Zak, who's getting more and more anxious to be out of there (I didn't actually write that, but that was my intent...*lol*). After the last of the stragglers (everyone else *g*) had gone back, Zak jumped through herself and was also apprehended. She insisted she was the lorekeeper, but given her ragged appearance, nobody believed her.
Recovering from the fireball that apparently swept Kryschenn away, two of the group blame Eric for not making his sheild barriar big enough to protect Kryschenn as well. Eric's horrified to hear that Khrys is gone, and vows that they will find her. A few remaining gremlins creep up on them and one bites Eric, who flings it at the Umberhulk. The umberhulk begins munching happily on it, and the others hit on the idea that if they could get to the other side of the pit, they could sneak away while the creature was eating the rest of the gremlins! Celeste suggests that Anna-Moe could teleport them to the other side of the pit, but Anna insists that they wouldn't be able to go far with that many people- it will take a few trips for her, as well- and suggests that Presto could levitate some of the group too.
Fairalin later apologizes to Eric for her harsh words, but Cassandra attacks him. Eric shrugs off the mystic's attack and suggests they get moving to try to find Khrys.
------
Khryschenn is still alone, and has managed to get her heart under control.
Once again, the spirit appears to guide her throught the tunnels, giving
her no indication as to where it's leading her. Her sword overloads
on the magic it's picking up, however, frightening Khrys by cauing an explosion.
She sheaths it and continues following the spirit, which she begins to
suspect is leading her in circles....
----------
Meanwhile in Macula...
Introductions have been made, some more enthusiastic than others. Sunny's perfume apparently overloads poor Trunks, who gets a nosebleed and then faints dead away. The others tend to him with concern, Sunny explaining the nosebleed's a typical anime response to an attractive gal (is it?? how peculiar!) but she's never seen anyone faint before...
Abigail is not keen on losing another outworlder after Kayla, and they all work to revive the poor star-crossed chap, splashing him with cold water.
The Battle Royale in the swamp is over, and it didn't go very well for our heroes there....
Ashleyien and Alexia, both fallen unconscious from overuse of their magic, were captured and carried off by the drow mercenaries, who threaten to kill them off at dawn (well, if you can call the rising of the fourth sun "dawn"- it's probably more like midmorning at that point...*grin*) if the others don't show up and surrender.
Cadbury had transported Thoth back to Tuculcha's castle, berating him for his rude awakening, and passed out as well. Thoth was left to deal with Tuculcha unaided...but instead of attacking him, she seductively promises to heal him- and Cadbury too- if he will promise to aid her in an unspecified future task. Thoth protests that he won't give up the quest, or do anything evil, but eventually agrees, as he and Cadbury are in dire need of healing. Tuculcha gives him a whistle to signal when he's ready to return to her, and works her magic. Cadbury is NOT happy about the bargain, but it's too late now, and Thoth runs back to join his companions.
Ashleyien, meanwhile, is having a most interesting dream in which she learns from a mysterious vision named Krystia that she has innate magic powers. She senses that her companions are all right (even if Cadbury'spissed), and heals herself of her wounds.
The others, Thoth, Ral, Dawn, Spud, and Dan, are gathering themselves together again. Dan blames himself for the attack, for showing poor leadership skills, and wonders where the strange fellow (Spud) has gotten to. Thoth begins to treat his wounds.
Catacombs under Yarfell:
Kryschenn, following the spirit, finds that she can stop her sword from
blowing holes in the cavern by simply telling it to STOP storing magical
energy. While examining the rubble from her previous explosion,
she
finds an intricately carved stick- one of the staff pieces! That's
one
down, two more to find...
Meanwhile, Eric has struck a truce with the two women he's constantly
arguing with, and they discuss going ahead with Anna-Moe's plan of
teleporting them all (except for Eric and Fairalin) to the opposite
side
of the pit and running for it. Fairalin will fly Eric over herself,
after there's no longer a need to sheild anyone on the near side from
umberhulks/gremlins.
-------------------------
The dungeons of Yarfell:
Lord Tolan continues to interview the prisoners, examining Iris's lute and recognizing from the symbols upon it that it was bound to Iris and couldn't be removed from her posession. After she's led away, the Wizard Echlar smugly tells Lord Tolan that he'd cast illusions of the former occupants of the cells, so that the escape of the Outworlders still remains undiscovered.
Meanwhile, Zak and Bubbles clean up and regarb themselves in more appropriate attire, which Zak conjures from her book. Lord Tolan had let her keep her book, after recognizing her from many years before, and Zak retrieved her quill from a sheepish Bubbles. She then doodles a window to Sterling's cell and begins discussing an escape plan with him, being forced to stop now and then to avoid the guards discovering her. Kimmy's been put into their cell as well. The ring she found is apparently cursed- it refuses to be removed from her finger, much to her dismay, and zaps her occaisionally with pink sparks. Zak thinks she might recognize it from somewhere. It's definately a ring of teleportation, though. Kimmy also suggests that there are LOTS of ways into the catacombs...
Cold, Glitter, and Carrie made it to the stables with little time to spare, where they encounter a full grown, telepathic Uni. They convince her to teleport them all safely away, enhancing her power with Cole's mind gem. Blipping further than she's ever blipped before, they find themselves about a 20-minute ride away from Macula.
Of the rest of the Venger's castle crew, EO and Night Steel are the only ones who have not been tossedinto the dungeons. EO is taking care of Ingeld, Steel's wherabouts are unknown.
--------------------------
Macula:
Unaware that Cole & Co. are on the way, Sunny, Abigail, Jaina, and
Trunks (and Matthew) are still in Sunny's room, tending to poor Trunks.
He's fine, it was only a nosebleed, though he mentions that it was a good
thing Sunny hadn't been naked at the time...(to which Sunny suggests that
all he's gotta do is ASK if that's what he wants...) Jaina asks again
about Blaze.
---------------------------
The Swamp:
Ashleyien and Alexia are in dire straits!! They've been bound and tormented by the evil drow mercenaries, who tease them mercilessly about their fate and the fate of their companions. Alexia, furious, manages to free herself briefly of the leather shackles, singing a few of the drow with her fire magic, but the effort knocks her out again, and the drow are sure to use metal this time (as well as continue to keep her well-doused with water).
The guys, meanwhile, regroup, bind their wounds and start on the trail
to rescue their comrades...
