The demon was killed by the joint actions of several people, mostly Kryschenn, Link, Night Steel, Sailor Zeo, and Coal Tiger. It left an unpleasant acidic mess on the ballroom which various mages helped clean up. Don't mess with Kimmy- she now has a vial of icky ichor with her, which happened to fall into one of her pockets...Healers tended to the wounded, and then most of the characters stumbled off to bed. (Cole woke up later on the floor of the ballroom for reasons unknown, and stumbled off to the wrong bed.
) Night Steel, Zeo and Zanthia shared a bizarre dream about a firebreathing eagle.
Night Steel and Cassandra spotted the Ranger and the Thief having a moment of romantic cuddling (and Cole discovered, to his dismay/amusement, that Hank did NOT spend the night in his own room that night...because if he had, he'd have discovered Cole there). Word that the two are a couple spreads in the morning gossip. Hank and Sheila are amused by the whole thing.
In other romantic news, Tommy and Bubbles are currently sharing a bed with a big red cat. Bubbles just woke up and has just bumped in to Zakiyah, who also had a busy night (only her date was with the library).
Around midnight, Yodel the merchant's daughter Ingel was kidnapped by flying monkey things (same dudes from the beginning of the "Hall of Bones"). He made his way to the castle and the matter was brought before the bleary-eyed Princess at her morning's council meeting. According to the story, he was counting his gold when he heard a crash, thumps, and a screech. Ingeld was missing from her room, a winged creature was outside, and its hooded rider was carrying a glowing scarlet rod. The rider instructed the beast to head for Venger's castle.
The council meeting (which is ongoing, and player characters are beginning to wake up to the sound of alarm bells and join in the proceedings) is currently divided into two factions: the "Peace with Venger" faction, led by Lord Droth of YArhaven, who mistrusts the otherworlders and blames them for provoking Venger's wrath on the city, and the "Not in a million years" faction, supported by Lady Helmwigge, Lady Reskya, and the Princess.
As they debate, and hear Yodel's story, they also discover that Lady Reskya has been murdered in her room, her throat slashed. She was found slumped across a desk with her arm over a book (the book, for the record, is an obscure treatise on various manifestations of vampirism in the Realm).
Rumors fly about the castle, and the Otherworlders are beginning to be suspected...
