Iris looked at the pair, suspecting she knew what was going on. "Cole, is this wise?" she asked. "I'm familiar with the Dark Sun campaign setting, so I know it's possible to mix psionics and magic, but it's usually restricted to seriously high-level spells. And what if things backfire again? Do you honestly want TWO people peeking into your mind every time you use your gem?" Then she turned to Terri. "And what about you? I'm sure I saw into your mind earlier, before the ball when Eric and Bobby had their little disagreement about what Bobby would wear. It's the only thing that makes sense."
A thought struck her, and she turned to Varla before either Cole or Terri could answer. "Or am I barking up the wrong tree? I thought your illusions were magical, but I think I recall rules for psionic illusions. Are you a spellcaster or a psionicist? If your power is mental instead of magical, just forget my objections."
