Venger sat on his throne, gazing into his scrying portal. One of their number had somehow put up a shield that blocked his scrying, but no matter. He'd learned what he needed to know from the Mystic and that interfering Lorekeeper. They'd taken the bait, and their misbegotten sense of loyalty would force them to follow after the Mystic. Everything was going according to plan - almost...What kind of game did that boy Tanaka think he was playing? Killing that annoying councillor was not his task!
Venger's eyes glowed evilly. He would soon set him straight. "Shadow Demon! Attend me!"
The shade rose out of one of many pools of darkness filling the dank chamber. "Yes, Master?"
"Go to Yarfell. Wait until Tanaka is alone, and bring him here to me. Do not fail me in this!"
Shadow Demon bowed low to his master. "Thy will be done." He sank back into the darkness.
"Good help is so hard to find these days..." Venger mused to himself. With that in mind, he switched his attention to the action in the Swamp.
