Hearing her comment, Tommy ignored the murder, matchmaking and Venger-hunting debates going on around him and spoke towards Iris. "I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but look around you. Does this *look* like the world of Dark Sun? Why do you think those rules would apply here? For that matter, why do you think any game's rules, Dungeons & Dragons or otherwise, would apply here? Because the cartoon we all watched, which this world seems to closely match, was named after that roleplaying game?
"First of all, just in the cartoon there were many things that didn't match anything TSR ever published. Second, we aren't *in* a cartoon. People bleed and die, eat, sleep and make love. This is a real world, not a game, not a show. And I seriously doubt the magic of this world follows rules written by a bunch of gamers without even a tyro's grounding in the occult.
"I'm not trying to be harsh here, I just want to point out that making assumptions like that can get you dead or worse." He looks at the door that Cassandra and Zaki left through so recently. "Much worse."
