Floating silently back toward Yarfell, the creature of darkness notices one of the newcomers, a sullen-looking girl with long hair, untying a note from the foot of a pigeon that looked suspicously like one of Zakiyah's paper creations. The ghoul watched as she thought about it, grimacing and sighing, then penned a reply. She tied it to the bird and it fluttered away.A quick thing it was to catch the bird a few minutes later, which fluttered in panic in his fingers. He perused the note from Kryschenn, which Zak had not thought to safeguard in her usual manner, and Cass's reply. "How touching," he sneered. "Poor gullible little girl...Yes, someone IS watching you, a someone whose physical form was destroyed but who left indelible traces in your little mind. He failed in his mission and he's quite upset, I think....Perhaps we can change your mind about your friends, too..."
He though a moment, still holding the pigeon by its paper feet. He debated on whether he should change the note...? No- he had no writing implements here. And his mission WAS to bring Tommy to Venger....would Venger want him to deviate from plan?
The temptation was too much. In a swift motion he shredded the pigeon and its message. Let her think her friends had gotten her reply and simply abandoned her...let her friend Kryschenn think her note meant nothing to Cassandra.... Or-- perhaps Cass would blame the Lorekeeper, thinking she had not passed on the note to Kryschenn? Her continued feuding with the Cavalier would only add to the division and her isolation. It would only be a matter of time.
So many possibilities...chuckling, he continued on his way. Once she stormed off in a huff again, he'd be ready. Nothing twisted a person to Venger's ends more than being betrayed by friends...they were so easy to manipulate.
