Kryschenn tried not to roll her eyes. Droth. Of course it all came down to Droth. The pro-Venger faction, the one who had supported Aumeric's accusations of murder against her and Eric. Oh, she'd like to confront Droth, all right.
The slime probably did know something, anyway. He'd been so quick to accuse, so willing to overlook obvious inconsistencies in the evidence, it almost seemed like he was trying to cover something. But he would be surrounded by his men, and confronting him directly, by herself, was probably pretty dumb. She didn't trust Droth as far as she could toss the caber at the last Highland Games ((If you have to ask, never mind)) but she had to start somewhere.
"Well, my good merchant," she said, placing her arm around his shoulders and wondering why he was looking like he thought he was about to be attacked by a dozen rabid hyenas. "Perhaps I will speak to him. But if you really think Droth is behind this, then you must suspect that he had something to do with your daughter's kidnapping, too. What say you we confront him together?"
