Wearily, Kryschenn trudged alongside the faerie who was basically keeping her upright, half-listening and not quite understanding what Fairalin was talking about. Although Fairalin had shocked her back into the present and had made her understand that what had happened was in self defense, this whole episode was weighing very heavily on her. Getting out of that house and away from the bodies had helped immensely, but she was still concerned about being thrown in prison, despite Faira's assurances otherwise.
But right now she just couldn't believe her luck was holding. She would have expected a crowd to have gathered if anyone had noticed the palace guard raiding a noble's home. At the very least, somebody likely would have seen her going in, since they had attracted so many jeers and catcalls on the way here.
Besides, wandering around in broad daylight, covered in blood, was not exactly the best way to avoid attracting attention. She looked down at her armor. "This is gross," she decided for the hundredth time.
She looked up then and noticed some sort of furry forest animal near the edge of a grove of trees somewhat off the road. It seemed have Fairalin's attention. Not aware of the mental messages the faerie had been sending out, Kryschenn said, "Is that cute little furball over there trying to tell you something?"
