I don't know how long I was asleep, nor what happened after the demon tried to reposess me. But the next thing I remember, some wizard had his hands on my head and I could feel some kind of magical pressure on me. "Excellent." he finally said as he removed his hands from my head. "The demon has been completely cast out.""Let's just hope it stays that way this time." I reply unintentionally.
"Ah, you're awake, young Mystic."
"Who...who are you?"
"I am the wizard Echlar, and you are lucky to live, young one, considering the circumstances."
"I remember now. Your Princess arrested my friends for no reason."
"The Outworlders. Listen carefully, child. You must reach the catacombs to find the staff, the real one, and release our true Guardian."
"I don't know if I'm the right person to do so, Echlar. Remember what happened last time?"
"You'll not make the same mistake twice, Mystic." Echlar handed me a clear sphere. "Take this crystal orb with you." he told me. "It will protect you from anymore evil entities trying to posess you."
I took the orb from Echlar. In Yarfell, I made many enemies among the locals. Prehaps it is time I made a friend. "Thank you, Echlar." I said.
"And take this cloak," he continued, handing me one of the indigo cloaks I had used at the ball last night. "You'll probably need it." Echlar directed me to a wall where a panel opened to reveal a secret passage. "There lies the catacombs." he said. "Make haste, and Godspeed to you, Mystic." Clutching the cloak and orb, I entered the passage and into the catacombs, unaware of what I may find.
