"Cadbury says that the room where the mirror is appears to be in the main tower. The adjoining rooms looked like Tuculcha's living quarters. She might be there, and there's a lot of magical items stored in that area. Even weakened, the witch could be a formidable opponent with those items. On the other hand, the room where she found the spirit of the little boy, there is a pool there into which the children were sacrificed; the purpose of that pool might be to reinvigorate the witch's power. Cadbury had quite a bit of trouble making her way through the fortress; but when the child traveled the shadows at one point he became all the shadows of the castle at once, and Cadbury gained more understanding of the labyrinth."

The little bunny hopped down and began to scratch a quick floor plan in the mud.

"Through the main portal," continued the mage, "we will enter the entry hall, big and cavernous. Various hallways radiate off the ground level; one of those eventually leads to the room of sacrifice. We want either of the spiral staircases on the sides. On the second floor, we'll follow various hallways, as the diagram shows, to the base of the tower. This has a ward of tremendous power of it. Let's hope the Erl King's minions knocked this out 'cause Cadbury says it's pretty nasty. Up the tower to the room where the mirror is stored."

    Cadbury leapt onto Thothalas' shoulder.

"There could be more surpises, she reminds us. She did not personally see every inch of this course, only sensed it as part of the child's power. But at least we more of less know where we are going."
