Consequently, there was a long silence after Rose's question, during which time he found himself eying
Bubbles again before forcing himself to focus on Rose. More than anything now, he wanted distraction of a lighter sort, before he grabbed the girl and took her, here, now, before them all. "Another story, Storyteller!" he commanded, the anger in his voice barely contained. "And then you will retire...."

His voice trailed off as he found his gaze fixed on Bubbles again. She would pay for her teasing torment of him, whether she willed or no. He did not smile, and hoped she would see it in his eyes, and fear him.....and a faint bit color rose to his pale cheeks when he saw the insolence in her eyes as she gazed back with her half-lidded gaze, twirling a bit of hair about her finger again...

Rose bowed in acquiesence, hiding her smile of triumph. Their plan had worked and Venger was more than distracted, or so it would seem. Rose glanced at Lord Venger's clenched hand on the cracked arm of the throne.

Bubbles had done her bloodline proud this night. Perhaps the cambion could distract him further, giving the others more of a chance to accomplish their mission safely, should they need it. She knew Bubbles had her own itinerary concerning Lord Venger on that particular subject and that she would be more than happy to oblige.

"Of course, M'Lord." Rose had EO and Iris come forward as well and play a sweet song to which she performed not so much another tale as showed an old dance from a court which no longer existed.

Rose smiled to herself, knowing she could be retelling the story of Venger's defeat at Tardos Keep from the Young One's point of view, and he wouldn't notice.

She watched as his eyes yet again drifted towards Bubbles and as the dance began within her smoke, the faintest image of what could be a third dancer drifted within ... one that, if the eye could make out the whipered thought of a figure, might look very well like Bubbles.
