Neither Venger nor his court was paying Rose's story the slightest heed, as Bubbles, standing modestly and quietly in the background pretending that her part in the show was over, continued to hold the entire room's attention.Amusingly, they did appear to be trying to watch Rose's calmingly bland, pretty courtly dance. It might have been a tretise on Venger's defeats, by the look on his face. The grim line of his mouth was set in a tight scowl, sharp incisors poking through and nearly cutting his lip, his pleasant (for him) mood of earlier utterly abolished by the presense of that woman's teasing, fearless gaze.
He was also displeased to note Rose's apparent smug satisfaction at his reaction, and was nearing a resolve to flood the hall with flames when Bubbles began flicking water at herself to cool off.
Such a display was too much for the two soldiers behind her, who bent toward her leeringly, slurring vague offers to help her cool off. One of them goes so far as to put a hand on her waist, the other taking her water glass from her hand and preparing to pour it over the filmy cloth covering her chest...
Venger almost fried them with a fireball then and there, but watched with narrowed eyes to see how she reacted to this treatment.
