Kryschenn shivered as she looked up and up into the expanse of pitch black above them. This was just too eerie, and Fairalin's nervousness wasn't helping. She'd toured more than one cave system that was a national monument back home, but those were guided, lighted, and extremely safe tours. This was different. Potentially deadly, unless they could find reason to believe otherwise about Tommy. Somehow, staring up into the cold, damp nothing was scarier than being run down by a fireball or having a stalactite nearly dropped on her head. It was like...it was like reaching for even a sliver of actual memory of what she had done at Droth's estate. She knew something was there, something horrifying beyond words, but there was not even the tiniest flicker of a clue as to what lay in that suffocating darkness.
Her nerves got the better of her. She had to scream, so at least she made it into a word.
"TOMMY!"
The name reverberated off the cave walls, bouncing higher and higher, reaching deep into the darkness and giving the impression of a mighty size to this cavern
But there was no answer.
"I don't think he's here," Diana finally said uneasily, when the taunting echoes escaped to who-knows-where. "The way that sounds, if he made any noise at all, we'd have heard something."
"Fine," Kryschenn said hurriedly, walking quickly back towards the safety of the other tunnel. She didn't even check to see if anyone was coming with her. "I'm outta here."
