"All right, Cole," Hank replied, "let's have a look." The Mentalist led the Ranger to the cell door. Hank peered into the bars and saw exactly what Cole had seen; a feral child, her feet resembling those of a waterfowl. "See?" Cole told him, "Can you honestly tell me that 'that' is Ingeld?"
Hank grinned as he looked at the uneasy Mentalist. "Yes," The Ranger answered, "I can."
"Well then, what happened to her?" del Tigre asked, "She doesn't look anything like she did in the Eye of Kamalor."
"You're exactly right, Cole, she doesn't look a thing like she did in the Eye of Kamalor! However," Hank began to explain, "according to what Dungeon Master told Night Steel, the Eye shows the absolute truth to those who look through it. In the Eye, we saw a frightened little girl, and I'm pretty sure that's what were seeing now, 'duck feet' and all. Ingeld probably has powers similar to Varla and Glitter, making herself appear more dangerous so we don't try to hurt her."
"So, we're just seeing an illusion she's casting over herself then, right?" The Ranger then nodded accordingly to Cole's question. After a few moments, the Mentalist grew at ease, accepting Hank's assumption that Ingeld was merely an illusionist. "Well, what are we waiting for?" A much more enthusiastic Cole told the others. "Let's get her out of there. And maybe that kid in the corner too!"
