Her voice was lost in the confusion as Tommy began to glow and Sterling shoved him away from the portal, which had begun to look quite unnavigable. She knew little of the drow tongue, just bits and phrases it shared with High Elven, but his meaning was clear. He was staying behind.
The unreality of the situation lent her a sort of detached curiousity, and she turned her eyes back to the portal as it seethed and shimmered. She had never seen anything so powerful as this portal.
