((Tommy, forgive me....I'm not sure what you're intending with the green glow, but I thought we were operating under the assumption that magic didn't work in the tower. So for the purposes of this scene, I'm also assuming that Venger's spell on you took effect as you began to enter the portal, which took you outside of the magic-free zone and set off the trap. IF you would like to type an addendum explaining what Venger knows about the spell he cast on Tommy, please do..... Hope everyone's ok with that!)) ------------------------------------------------
SOMETHING WAS WRONG!
The pleasant aura about him shattered as something harsh, unexpected, and extremely powerful intruded on his consciousness, shocking him back to cold reality. Furiously he sent out a mental probe to the area of the disturbance, found it centered on one of his prison towers.
"The Lorekeeper," he hissed, "and the Gamer! What are they doing?" But they weren't the source of the problem....he followed the strands of complexly woven golden threads to the source- Tuculcha's fortress, and her mirror.
He erupted with a scream of frustration and fury. Bubbles' presense was immediately forgotten as Venger raised his glowing hands and stormed from the room, slamming open the door so hard that it fell off the hinges and clattered into the hallway. Moments later, he was in the tower and saw for himself what was going on there....
An unfamiliar drow swordsman and another warrior woman stood blocking Tommy from entering a swirling portal, while Zakiyah simply gaped in confused astonishment. He arrived just in time to watch the female fighter make a dive toward the portal, which was shrinking and looking sickly and chaotic.
The power necessary to drive such a portal was staggering, considering he, Venger, had warded the room of ALL magic, including his own. The power was generated from the other side, funneled through whatever mage was controlling it, to dissipate as it was sucked into the magic-less void of the room. Such a mage would soon be dead, he thought with fury, for no mortal wizard he was aware of could withstand the furious wild magic needed to control this, and surely not the little witch Tuculcha! HOW was this accomplished? WHO was the wizard?
Venger's fury was beyond compare when he recognized the drow...a drow he'd killed not long ago for his disobedience! Things were rapidly slipping out of hand, and if there was one thing Venger hated, it was not knowing what was going on. "D'YVAR IRZEN! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!"
((Okay, folks!! *eg* Venger's magic doesn't work in this tower, but neither does any of yours. You get a round of reactions in before he starts beating up on everyone. *lol*))
