From underneath the bed, Kimmy could just make out two pairs of feet. Looked like she was stuck under there for a while anyway. She sighed and waited for her chance to sneak out, wishing she had a Snicker's Bar.Kimmy heard the distinct sound of ripping material and saw filmy bits of what looked like Bubbles' costume float to the floor. She heard Venger say "A cambion" and Kimmy wondered briefly what was. Then he started talking and blah blah blah. She drummed her fingers impatiently sighing again, and then decided to occupy herself in the mean time by rummaging through her pockets.
Lying on her back comfortably, she pulled out a string of beads from the costume ball, some very interesting looking rings, that pretty golden statue of a dragon with jeweled eyes she found in that dusty room under the cellar in Yarfell, some 'Pocket of Holding' pocket lint, and A Monster-sized Jawbreaker!! It wasn't a Snickers, but it would do. She licked away at it while she looked through more objects that had mysteriously found their way into her cloak and loved how jawbreakers turned all kinds of pretty swirly colors.
She turned an ear to the goings on and wished she hadn't. 'Ewwwww... they're kissing! How could she? He doesn't have a nose!!! Huh. Well, at least it can't get in the way I guess.'
She turned back on her stomach and saw Venger's clothing just suddenly appear on the floor. At the same time, right before her startled eyes, a softly glowing crystal appeared on a secret under-the-bed cubbie-shelf! It swirled with all kinds of colors. It was incredible! Her hand reached out to touch it and she blinked and had to cover her mouth to keep in an exclaimation as she realized she was looking at The Orb!!!
She was so amazed that she hardly noticed when the bed sank with the weight of the two. She wondered if Venger would notice it was gone. The Orb was kinda suspended on a chain. She gingerly picked it up with candy-sticky fingers and was able to push the Orb out of the ornamental circle that held it in place. If only she had something to switch it with so he wouldn't notice right away!
Her eyes drifted down to the jawbreaker in her other hand. 'Well... they Are about the same size... and the jawbreaker Is all swirly colored too...' Kimmy grinned and made the switch. She put the jawbreaker/Orb necklace back on the shelf and tucked the Orb into a pocket of her cloak.
Above her the bed made noise.
Thumpa squeak thumpa squeaka thumpa wump thumpa squeak thumpa thumpa thumpa wumpa...
'There's my cue!' Kimmy thought and cautiously crawled a bit out from under the bed. She peeked over the side and saw that Venger was more than occupied with his back to her.
She hurried out of the bedroom and into the trophy room. She looked back once more and thought, "Huh. Well, I guess THAT sure solves the mystery of V's wings!" And she quietly opened the door and sneaked out. She did NOT want to stay and watch the rest of the show. After all, there was that old kender legend about being blinded by a full blue moon...
