"A brilliant plan," she said petulantly after he'd explained it, only a slight edge of sarcasm in her voice, "except that you don't LOOK like a soldier of Venger's...not to mention he'd never order prisoners out in the middle of the night..." Still, better than nothing. She could predict his response, and beat him to it. "And NO, I don't have a better one! You realize I'll give you away, of course, if they happen to ask me anything directly," she warned him as they set off again.
"You're absolutely right, Zak!" mentioned Sterling with a smile on his face. "I don't look like one of Venger's soldiers; but I DO look like one of his officers, which is exactly what I was before my untimely demise. Add that to the fact that I know all of his military protocols, and I think we have a better than even chance of making it out of here alive, if and only if, we play our cards right!"
Thinking about Zak's comment about being giving them away, the Dark Elf said, "Yep, you're probably right. But it's going to be kind of hard for you to say anything, if no one can hear you!" And with that the Drow ripped off another strip of Zak's dress and tightly wrapped it around her head and over her mouth. "Breathe through your nose and you'll be alright. NOW MOVE!"
