Thothalas felt the relatively cool air of the swamp blow across his face. He was almost too weak to blink, but a look at Ashleyien's face reminded him that the young warrioress had expended a lot of energy too when she lent her power to him. Without her help, the portal would have collapsed with him inside; now that thought did make him shutter. The whole group was looking pretty worn, and their quest wasn't over yet. The young mage took his weight from Ashleyien's comfortable shoulder and pushed his disheveled hair back with a trembling hand.He just wanted to lie down and... not die. Not today. And not after they had come so far. But the lying down sounded good. Wonderful even. Poor Alexia, she must be exhausted too. Their melding had went well... except for.... Hmmm, his memories became quicksilver every time he thought of the melding. He must be very tired; after he slept, then he'd remember.
And there was Sterling.... Can't think now; have to keep moving.
Without thinking, Thothalas' hand found its way into his satchel. He patted the sleeping bunny and felt Cadbury's little heart thud strongly at rest. Strange, he seemed to feel a little better already.
