"Mommy dearest?" EO hissed under her breath. "Mommy dearest?!?" She parried a blow from the soldier she fought, venting her anger on the poor unfortunate lackey. The soldier, for his part, was looking at her oddly, and she realized belatedly that she had been muttering in Elven."Never mind," she snapped in irritation--and in English--bringing her sword up to clash once again with her opponent's. Unexpectedly, she and the soldier were evenly matched. She had just assumed that Venger would have nothing but incompetent boobs on his side, like in the 'toon. Her mistake. Fortunately for her, Adeline's skill kept it from being a fatal one. This time, anyway.
EO yelped as the soldier almost succeeded in getting past her guard. Growling in irritation, she decided that it was past time to end this. Parrying with one hand, she raised the other, scribing arcane symbols in the air as she muttered the words to a spell. With a look of surprise on his face the soldier collapsed to the floor, where he began snoring.
EO glanced behind her in surprise as she heard Sterling asking Zakiyah something about Tommy. She looked around her in alarm. Sure enough, Tommy wasn't in sight. Neither was Bubbles. She quickly strode over to where Sterling stood with Zaki, resisting the urge to sheath the sword. She might need it again, after all.
"Tommy's not the only one missing," EO pointed out once she'd reached the Drow and Lorekeeper. "Bubbles is gone too."
