The Mentalist realized that Iris was the one behind the portals and understood that she couldn't stop to answer his questions or else the portals would close on them. Tempted to draw his weapon of power from it's pouch and use it to contact her telepathically, Cole put aside the notion, knowing full well that he would be unable to tell the others what was happening if he was unconscious. "Cole!" Hank shouted over the sound of the falling fortress and the honking swanmay. "I don't see the others you mentioned here," he said, "They probably found their own way out of the fortress. We'll just have to hope we catch up with them later and that they managed to find the orb and Ingeld's wings." "Everybody jump into the portal, now!"
