Still looking a bit sleepy, Echlar adjusted his robes for the third time and checked to see that his spellbag was knotted on his sash. All during this, the Captain's words flowed freely through his ears and really didn't take too much time to hang around in his brain. Annoying upstart of a guard, first day on the job, shiny new rank badge... They met up with Lord Tolan, who had dressed hurriedly and was waiting for them in the hall. "Echlar," he said without preamble, "I am informed that the prisoners have escaped. Do you remember what we discussed, in the case of such an eventuality?" "I do, I do," Echlar said, and the Captain did not notice the sudden, wide-awake seriousness in Echlar's voice.
