((So far, what Krys discovered is that the sword acts as a lightning rod for magical energy. It can collect it and store it for a short amount of time. That's why it was humming slightly when Cassandra handed her the orb for the first time...it can also be used to simply detect the presence of magic, I suppose. It's kind of like a capacitor, though. It can only hold so much and only for a matter of minutes, but it can be discharged at will when it has any power stored in it. However, now that Krys is on her feet again, she's coming to get her sword back. Hold on to it and she can get you a sword that a guard dropped if you need one.))
