Iris's dischordant music, however, was quite enough to make both Zak and the being controlling her mind cringe. "Ye gods!" Zak shrieked as she snapped out of it, enough to put her hands over her ears. ((This isn't a comment on Iris's playing...
Just its effect...))
She blinked in confusion, nearly stumbling, but Night Steel's steadying hand righted her. Together they fled back to the main hall, where the battle with the demon-doppleganger was just coming to an end.
It looked as though things were pretty bad for the group huddled in the demon's path, but suddenly a fru-fru beast- EO in disguise- clobbered the demon from behind, felling it with a single blow of her (his?) powerful clawed arm. The creature fell to the ground and resumed its normal form. "Well DONE, EO!" Zak said happily, grinning at the frufru beast.
Fay, meanwhile, had demonstrated that she had hidden cleric abilities, as her healing poem helped Kryschenn return to health. ((I think you got Fay confused with Fairalin, Kryschenn)). As they both rejoined the gang, Zak thought it was fortunate that at least one of their group had healing abilities.
A thought struck Zak- she was sort of a cleric herself...she wondered if her god could be persuaded to let HER heal. She doubted it. He'd probably demand that she do an equal amount of harm for every good deed, or something equally annoying...
Zak retrieved her book and began recording these events....then wondered, "Where's Cassandra? I don't think that Guardian she summoned is really entirely under her control...it was trying to get me to find the rest of the staff...which means that SHE doesn't have it yet." Zak blinks. "And I thought that YOU had the orb, Kryschenn..." Zak blushes, remembering her betrayal. "I'm sorry about that....you were right not to tell me the truth. That goes for all of you, I guess..."
She shakes off her guilt. "We've got to find Cassandra..."
((this is assuming Cass's taken off somewhere...if she's right there in front of us, just ignore that bit. ))
