"WHOA!" an exhausted Kryschenn yelped, stumbling backwards several steps. "Okay, this is getting ridiculous." Heedless of the stares she was getting, she stuck her hand down the front of her tunic, rummaged around a bit, and came up with two silk handkerchiefs. One, she simply dropped. The other, she unfolded until it revealed a gem that was glowing red through its camouflage of blue. "Okay, guys, here it is in a nutshell. Cassandra found the orb that goes on the staff that releases the guardian of Yarfell," she explained.
((Which is what we believe at the moment, whether or not it turns out to be true, or am I confused?))
"We figured we should keep it secret until we knew more about what was going on, but just in case, she switched it with this, the stone in her necklace," Krys indicated the stone in her hand, "and to make double sure, I started carrying the decoy to draw any unwanted attention away from her. It seems to have worked. Zak thought I had the real one, which she told Shadowdemon, and Venger attacked me for it. Except Cassandra's in trouble. This thing has been sending me messages somehow, and I think what she said is that she released the guardian but it's out of control or not the real one or something. She needs help here."
Kryschenn turned in the direction that the stone indicated Cassandra call for help had come from, and almost fell when her tired legs tried to give out under her. She probably would have hit the ground if it hadn't been for the strong arms that caught her from behind.
