: "Oh, and Zeo," he added, "I
: could probably carry you using my TK
: power, if you'd like."
: "Unfortunately I can't think of a good
: 'portal' song at the moment" said the
: mentalist, thinking out loud. "Then
: again, will we even have time to sing one
: while passing through it?"
: "Portal songs, portal songs...."
: Zeo shook her head, trying to call up her
: memory. "Well, there's always
: Fastball's 'The Way.' You know, 'Where
: were they going without even knowing the
: way.'" She thought about the offer
: of being carried. "Um, I didn't say
: I _wanted_ to _be_ carried. I said I
: could stick something in this bag and
: carry it if needed. But thanks for the
: offer; if I get tired, I may take you up
: on it!" She winked at Cole and
: smiled her best Senshi smile.
Tommy laughed. "Come on, Cole, there's *always time for a song. Let's see... We Gotta Get Out of This Place? Break on through to the other side? One step beyong? Ah, got it.
Oh ye'll tak' the high road
and I'll tak' the low road,
An' I'll be in Yarfell before ye'.
Or," Tommy continued, "along the fantasy vein...
The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin...
Now, before this becomes _Name That Tune_..."
Tommy walked into the portal, singing "Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me..."
((OOC: Aaaahhhhhh!! Somebody, please stop me! It's hard enough as it is to stop myself from doing this, but when you *encourage* me like that... Well, just remember that I warned you, and I'm an invertebrate punster.))
On the other side...
Tommy fell through the portal and hit the ground tumbling. Rolling to his feet, he still had too much momentum and pitched forward again. One almost graceful flip and an arms-wide spin later, he had come to a stop on his feet. "Good thing I'm a Weeble," he commented, wobbling slightly.
He looked up at the portal. "And what is this, Time Bandits? Doesn't anyone know how to make a portal that opens at ground level?" Finally noticing the frantic faerie trying to get his attention, he followed her up to the top of the hill. Lying down and carefully looking over the edge, he let out a low whistle. "One... two... many. Yep, that's a lot of Orcs." He looked up at Fairalin and quipped "You take the thousand on the left and I'll take the thousand on the right."
