"Sorry about that!" apologized the Drow over his shoulder to the Adventurer. "I just thought that with your whip acting crazy on you, you might want to try something a little more reliable ergo the stick!" As one of the Bullywugs charged at him with its spear; Sterling deftly deflected his attack, spun around, and in a downward slice slashed his assailant down the length of his back as his opponent went passed him. Facing off against another Bullywug, the Swordsman did not look back and see the end result of his handiwork as the Bullywug split cleanly in twain.
Suddenly the Drow heard a cry of anguish from the center of their battleline and looked around to see Ral staring at his hands in disbelief. The Monk had a broken spear tip lodged in his shoulder with one Bullywug unconscious at his feet and another one bearing down on him.
"NOOOOO!" cried Sterling in the Drowish tongue. Immediately cutting loose with a high pitch, ululating battle cry; the Drow charged headlong at the Bullywug and slammed into him before he could reach his intended target.
Sending both himself and his opponent crashing to the ground; Sterling tried to get to his feet but fell victim to a lack of breath. The Swordsman had gotten the wind knocked out of him; and he was beginning to feel its affects when, the Drow's opponent leapt on top of him and pinned the Dark Elf beneath him. Wrapping its slimy hands around Sterling's throat in an attempt to strangle him, the Bullywug locked its gaze in on the Drow as he struggled and barely succeeded in getting his left arm free.
In pure desperation, the Swordsman punched the Bullywug in its right eye. The creature screamed in pain as it scrambled away from the Dark Elf who sought again to recover his feet when he heard Thothalas' warning.
Hitting the deck, he heard the sound of magic crackling in the air and felt a furious rush of heat and energy pass by him with an earth shattering "Kaboom!"
When he looked up again, Sterling bore witness to a level of devastation that he had never seen in his life and that he hoped he would never bear witness to again.
