    Re: Bullywugs!

Posted by The Adventurer on 8/1/2000, 6:36 pm , in reply to "Re: Bullywugs!"

The Adventurer stood there open-mouthed as Thothalas' magic ravaged the front-lines of the frogmen. At least five Bullywugs lay on the ground, burnt to a crisp. Thothalas promptly collapsed to the muddy ground, his magic, conciousness fading fast. Ashleyien, went to his aid. Sterling, like a whirling dervish, fought his way over to the wounded monk leaving Dan to fend for himself. The handful of remaining Bullywugs advanced on him. Through the crowd he caught the sight of another handful advancing on the Dark Elf.

It was too late to wonder about Sterling's fate as the Bullywugs bore down on him. Dan sent his whip out at the nearest Bullywug hoping the result would be better than his earlier attempt against a small boulder. The whip struck the frog man directly in the chest bringing forth a loud crack. The frog flew backwards several feet and landed in a crumpled heap. But, there were too many of them and they were coming on him quickly.

Is this how it was going to end. His first adventurer in the Realm, struck down by a bunch of warty, slimy, frogs with teeth. The next opponent got underneath the Adventurers gaurd, a whip not being a very defensive weapon. The Bullywug yelled a horrific croaking battle-cry as he was about to thrust his spear forward for the killing blow.

The Adventurer closed his eyes, realizing death was on his way. Only the piercing thrust never came. Instead, he was splattered with a foul smelling gore as an arrow erupted from the other side of its head. Likewise, several of the other Bullywugs started dropping, feathered shafts sticking out of their misshapen bodies. Dan gazed down towards Stinkwell, their destination before the unfortunate ambush. An impossible distance away, the Adventurer could make out four archers firing with gusto. The rain of arrows continued until the reamaining the three Bullywugs disappeared into the swamp.

"What luck!" The Adventurer exclaimed raising his hands in greeting to the eagle-eyed archers. Dan collected himself and ran over to see to the horribly injured Monk.

((Everyone, there should be a small handful left on the opposite flank before the archers start firing. Feel free to RP it...or just say the archers took em out))
