Tommy put his face in his hands as he listened to Cole explain what he'd done. After Zeo's comment, he looked up. "Yes, set for stun. Yes, we're still trying for tact and diplomacy. Yes, the black costume was a bad idea, as was levitating up where they could see you so easily. Hopefully you learned an important lesson there, and will live long enough to benefit from it."
Tommy smiled to show he was *trying* to not go too hard on Cole. //He's just a kid// Tommy reminded himself. //And aren't you supposed to be the master tactician? Why didn't you stop him from popping up like that? Oh, well, plenty of blame to spread around. Start looking for the positive aspects.//
"Okay," Tommy continued. "The way I see it, putting our weapons away is *exactly* what we need to do if we're not going to play right into Venger's hands. When Yarfell's champions show up, we need to talk to them. One would hope that the defenders of a city that's held out against Venger as long as they have will be relatively intelligent. I doubt these guys are really itching for a fight. All we need is one of them willing to talk. Show them we're the good guys."
Tommy grinned and held up a yellow smiley-face button for Cole. "Here, put this on. I can't hurt." ((OOC: And no, no one noticed Tommy holding the button before that point.))
