As Sterling struggled to get to his feet shaking the cobwebs out of his head, the Constable and ten of his Deputies burst through the doors of the Wildflower Inn with swords and crossbows drawn. To say that the Constable was in a bad mood was an understatement, he wore a night cap and was dressed in a long robe held together by his sword belt. It looked like he didn't get any sleep either and he was about to let everyone else know it! "What the hell is going on here!" screamed Stinkwell's chief peacekeeper in anger. Upon seeing the damage to the inn as well as Ral and Sterling he ordered, "Seize them!"
Two of his men with swords drawn approached the Swordsman and the Monk carefully. They had seen what they did to a bunch of Bullywugs earlier that day and they did not wish to share their fate.
As the Swordsman tried to rise, he clutched his chest in pain. The kick that Skullsplitter gave him really hurt, and he was truly feeling its afteraffects! Realizing that they were in no shape for another fight; Sterling slowly picked up his sword, sheathed it, unlatched his swordbelt and then handed it to one of the Deputies. While one of the Deputies took his sword from him, the other one ordered him to get on his knees and put his hands on his head. The Swordsman complied. Another Deputy came up and he immediately began to tie the Dark Elf's hands behind his back. When he thought that he had him bound securely, he brought the Swordsman to his feet.
The Constable walked over to the Dark Elf and said, "Surrendering was a very wise move, Drow. No sense in adding onto the list of charges that will be brought against you and your friend here. From what I see, disturbing the peace and removing the peace bond on your weapon will be the least of your problems. There's also destruction of private property, and that alone carries with it a stiff fine and jail time!"
Looking around the room, the Constable asked, "Which reminds me, where are your other friends, the High Elf and the two humans you came here with? Didn't they have a hand in all of this or was it just you and your friend here?"
Sterling said nothing as the Constable turned back to one of his men and said, "It seems that our Swordsman here has nothing to say. Search the inn, find them, and if they are not here, then search the rest of the town as well. I want all of these rabble rousers in chains by morning."
As his men began to move out to find the others, The Constable walked over to the barmaid and asked a little less gruffly, "Belle, what happened here?"
