The noises on the other side of the bar, besides the groaning and moaning from the injured, ceased. Ashley, who had recovered from the sight of her injury, abrubtly stood up and began babbling about fixing her dress. Dan reached up from his seated position and pulled the woman back to the ground, perhaps a little too hard because he was greeted with a hard glare. He clamped his hand down on Ashley's mouth as she prepared to deliver a well-deserved lecture on why you don't 'yank' an injured woman to the ground. Sterling and Ral would have to fend for themselves for the moment, he thought. It would do the people of Yarfell no good to have ALL of them in a jail cell.
The Constable entered the tavern blustering and yelling about the destruction. Finally, he asked, "What happend here, Belle?"
That's when Dan realized his mistake. Belle was standing not five feet from them, behind the bar. The Adventurer held his breath as Belle opened her mouth to speak....
