: EO watched Cole fly away at the call for help,
: scanning the crowd herself. She caught
: sight of the scuzzbuckets hassling Zeo,
: and a low growl rumbled from her lips.
: Her hands clenched into fists, and she
: barely heard the ripping of fabric as the
: talons dug into the bag she carried.
: Breathing rapidly in an attempt to get her
: almost blinding rage under control, she
: watched with no small amount of
: satisfaction as Tommy beat the snot out of
: the deserving creeps. Then she felt
: herself relaxing as she watched Bubbles
: walk up to where Tommy firmly held his
: captive. She regarded the scene with a
: feral smile; Bubbles would teach this lout
: a far more fitting lesson than she would
: by rending him apart with her claws.
: She was still watching when Bubbles prodded
: the man awake with her boot. He leapt to
: his feet, and EO braced herself to quickly
: join the fight if necessary. To her
: surprise the man doubled over in pain,
: rolling around for a few moments on the
: ground. Then he stood once again, and EO
: found herself howling with laughter as she
: watched the man yank down his trousers and
: spank himself soundly with a board, all
: the while yelling "I'm a naughty boy!
: I'm a naughty boy! I did a bad thing! I'm
: a baaaad boy!" She continued to
: giggle as the rest of the crowd laughed as
: well, and some even threw a few copper
: coins.
: She waited, knowing the others would be able
: to soothe Zeo far better than her
: currently more frightening face would.
: While she waited, she mulled over what
: Cole had said to her. Low-level telepathy
: and telekinetics. Well, the TK in any
: event must not be so low-level, if he
: could fly with it. Jean herself wasn't
: really able to use it for that until her
: TK powers got hyped as a result of her
: hibernation. As for the precog/postcog
: thing….well, it sounded as if he had yet
: to try…. EO waited until the others
: started once more for the castle, then
: caught up quickly with Cole.
((I said low-level 'cause Cole's not exactly wielding the "Pheonix Force" here, nor is he an innate psi [or am he?
]. When developing the character I had to put some limits on the power levels he has. One the drawbacks of Cole's psionics is that if he tried to psi-scan anyone they could see into his mind too. That is why Diana referred to Cole by name when she was first revealed to be the one who tried to steal Zeo's bag by the site of Zak's portal, he was in her head and she in his. Yarfell's illusionist also knew someone was psi-scanning her. As for TK the heavier an object the more strain Cole feels. The heaviest object he could pick up under normal circumstances would be about one of Rahmoud's caravan beasts, anything heavier would cause a REAL strain on Cole, he could possibly collapse trying to pick up anything heavier than that. Cole, weighing much less than an "Elephant", can pick himself up with relative ease. Psi-shields are something he's done but never tested in a fight however, if the shield was being continuously battered it would eventally weaken and so would Cole. If he doesn't drop it before an opponent punctures/blasts through it, he would probably collapse then, too.
I think Cole is the most cheatingest character of all because although he only has two real powers TP and TK and can only use them once per charge, there are a wide variety of things he can do with it.
(one's I've used)
Flying/levitation, Psi-scan/mind reading, TK on someone else, Psi-shields, Psi-blast (TK)
(one's I'm thinking of)
Psi-blast (TP), Tactile Telekinesis/"Super-strength," Dreamwalking ))
: "I've been thinking….just now. If you
: haven't tried the precognative or
: postcongative abilities, are you *sure*
: you don't have them? And, if you'll
: remember, Venger had to be *told* about
: Teri's abilities, and if you don't know if
: you can do it, Venger's not likely to know
: either." She paused. "It'd be
"That's true, I guess." he paused for a moment "but Venger would know I'm a psi, especially when Shadowdemon tells him about it. Besides," he added, "Terry had to be asleep to use them, and I haven't even seen sleep since we got here.
((Cole being a precog/postcog to seems to be just too much for him power-wise. Although it seems likely that he should have them, using a psychic gem, for the sake of all things holy and good I think he should just stick with TP and TK. I also wouldn't want to influence the story like "hey I know where all of Venger's agents are cause I saw them in my dream," Or else we methodically take them out one at a time in their homes as they sleep, being that Cole 'saw' where they were. It seems like it'd be 'cheating'))
: best if another psychic would act as
: anchor, at least I'm going under that
: assumption…" She grinned, hoping it
: didn't look like she wanted to eat him for
: dinner. "Are you the only psychic
: in the group, or are there others? I'm
: afraid I haven't had the chance to really
: meet anyone yet."
"I've got an idea about how I could use an anchor without another psychic, EO." Cole said quietly.
: She paused again, finally remembering one
: other important question that Cole had
: asked her. "Well, I don't think I
: can turn into *anything* else just yet, my
: magic item only seems to work once per
: day. I tried earlier, and got zip.
: Though I'm betting I can only be
: humanoid-size people, and Venger would
: only laugh at a human-size Tiamat."
: EO stood waiting, letting Cole enter ahead of
: her into the castle itself, more than a
: little nervous about entering. She didn't
: exactly look like a proper guest right
: now, after all….
:
:
"Sure, but if you were a human sized Tiamat, wouldn't you still have her powers?" Cole asked as he went ahead of EO, despite his manners concerning allowing a lady to proceed him.
