    Oops! Am I late?

There I was, happily entering exam marks at my desk, when, all of a sudden....hell, I think you can guess the rest!

I sat up and looked around for a moment. *Bugger the time difference!* I thought, *I should have been here hours ago!* Seems like the Realm-express works a little differently from the other side of the ocean, like most things the UK tries to copy from the Americans!

Standing up rather painfully, I brushed myself down (I was, all of a sudden, adorned in a rather fetching black velvet cloak, which hid the rather lovely (although, arguably chilly round the knees!) ensemble of embroidered short black and silver tunic, black tights and knee high black boots. Thankfully the hair was tied, very tightly at the back of my neck with a black velvet ribbon. Nothing worse than blonde hairs all over an outfit-they stick like superglue! I had a black thing going on, alright...

I was just in time to see the backs of a band of travellers heading away fast. Their lively voices carried to me on the breeze, and I realised I'd better get moving if I had any hope of joining them Spotting the familiar faces of Kimmy and Zakiyah, amongst several others, I stepped forward, nearly tripping over the object in front of me.

"Caution, Poet!" A voice from...below... me said. "I can only give you your gift once." I stepped back again, and old red-robes took over the space.
"Let me guess," I muttered "A lifetime's supply of rhyming slang?"
With a rueful smile he handed me a small book. "You are not a Scribe, for tohers have a sacred duty to perform that role, but you are the bringer of hyperbole and metaphor of a different kind."
"They told me I used ten words when one would do in English class!" I replied. DM raised an eyebrow. "Poet, you will capture emotion in a different way, protect with binding words and aid your fellow travellers with your verse."
I perked up a little, well, if nothing else my "binding words" would help pass the time! An abstract talent, typical!
With that, I bowed dramatically to DM and rushed off to catch up the others.
"Hey guys," I said breathlessly "Where are we off to?"
