    Re: The Castle (Yarfell)

Posted by Fairalin on 8/20/2000, 12:35 pm , in reply to "Re: The Castle (Yarfell)"

As they entered Terri's room everyone caught sight of Terri laying in her bed. She was was pale as the sheets she lay under and even in her sleep had a distreesed half scared half lost look, around her seemed to sit a sort of shadowy binding spell, like a sheild within a sheild without a sheild and seeping throught the sheild was a steady tendril of life force, she was dying. Fairalin let a out a tiny distressed cry at seeing the girl and immediatly flew over, landing next to her head. She looked sadly at the young and shook her head, poor thing, poor Terri she must be so scared, she's dying. For some unkown reason she felt a connection to her, a need to protect, to help, to heal,
Maybe it was because all her life Fairalin had been something of a erodict, crazy dreamer herself
or maybe it was because she herself was knowing a creature often considered belonging the Dreamworld, the Spirit World or maybe it was pure maternal instinct but whatever the reason was the
feeling was there. She absently reached over a brushed away a stray strand of hair that had fallen in Terri's face "Poor thing," she said "Poor dear little mortal she must be so scared, lost in her own nightmares, something's binding her, killing her. Don't ask me how I know I just do." she turned "Cole please, do something, she'll die if she's like this much longer!" She turned back to look at Terri "If she dies, oh Goddess, if she dies Bobby will too, and Sheila and after her Hank and then one by one all shall fall and the realm shall be handed over to Venger and his damned Shadow Lord. Poor kind girl, she's lost, so brave and so very scared, Halycon is supposed to be beutiful but Venger wouldn't be kind enough to put her there, poor Terri, we have to do something, bring her back to reality. I'll help if I can but we must do something! I'll help as best I can but I don't know, oh I don't know." she finished, the words had come out in tumble and she wasn't exactly sure what she said or why she said but she knew
SOMETHING must be done, and soon.

    --Previous Message--
: : A minutes later in the Royal Court, Cole
: returned ready to attempt to glance
: something from Terri's mind. But still he
: made an allowance for his associate to try
    : first.
    :
    :
: As Rosalia went towards her room, she
: realized she would need to get more water
: and turned back towards the entrance. She
: paused as she heard Bobby call out to his
: sister, "These guys are from Earth.
: They think that this mental guy here can
: maybe reach her mind while she's
: asleep." He gestured at Cole
    : hopefully.
: She paused in her errand and wondered if this
: were indeed true. She watched as most of
: the group headed towards the Dreamer's
: room and let herself smile as Hank
: escorted Sheila. She put her back to the
: shadowy wall of the corridor and debated
: with herself what she should do.
: She knew she might be able to help these
: guests of the Young Ones. And if they
: could wake Terri, there may be hope of
: standing against Venger yet. Perhaps even
: sway the mind of the Princess...
: Rosalia shut her eyes briefly and wondered
: how she could give information without
: revealing her source. They were bound to
: ask... to be suspicious... but if it would
    : help...
: "So be it," she said softly. She
: opened her eyes and walked down the hall.
: Before the stairway leading up to Terri's
: room waited a tall figure in splendid
: rainbow-hued armor. The woman seemed to be
: waiting for one of her friends.
: Taking a deep breath, Rosalia walked up to
: the woman and smiled. "Hello
: there," she said in her soft, lilting
: voice. "You must be one of the guests
    : of the Young Ones."
: The woman turned to her and smiled back,
: introducing herself as Iris and extending
: her hand. Rosalia hesitated a brief second
: before briefly shaking hands. Iris was
: surprised at how warm her hand felt,
: though she wore strange seeming gloves
: which covered only the palms of her hands.
: A strap circled each middle finger and
: more straps crossed her thumbs and wrists,
: holding the palm coverings in place.
: Rosalia told her, "I am called Rose
: Vallan by many in this City. I suppose you
: could say I am the resident Storyteller
: when my travels bring me here. That is a
: beautiful instrument you have there. Are
: you a musician then? Or a minstrel?"
: The Storyteller listened as Iris told of her
: talent. She then suggested, "Perhaps
: if there is entertainment tonight and you
: are in the mood, you could accompany me. I
: oftentimes use musicians if I show a dance
: or something other than straight
    : storytelling."
: Just after Iris gave her answer, Cole walked
: in. As the young man dressed in black
: walked up, Iris introduced them. She
: hesitated once again before offering her
: hand to the Mentalist, releasing her grip
: quickly. She much preferred formal
: greetings as it was barely a touch of
: fingertips. She never had to worry about
: hurting anyone then. But in other cases,
    : the contact was necessary.
: She glanced at Iris and then her amethyst
    : gaze settled on Cole's. "I... I
: overheard what you were planning to do...
: to help the Dreamer, Terri." Her gaze
: dropped to the floor and she pushed back a
: white strand of hair behind her ear.
: "I may be able to help you."
: Iris and Cole exchanged glances and asked
    : how.
: Rosalia raised her head in determination and
: said, "I know what caused her to
: sleep sound, dreamless, sleep. It is the
: work of a demon. A lesser one, but one
: that has a powerful master. If you would
: go inside Terri's mind, you will find her.
: She is tucked far inside one of the dark
: corners of her mind. She is frightened and
: wants to awaken, but she is helpless to do
: so alone. That is all I can tell you for
: that is all I know."
: She quickly said, "I must go now and
: prepare for the Princess' summons. I wish
: you luck. I... hope this will help
: you," she finished sincerely. She
: turned on her heel and strode swiftly back
: down the hall before they could ask her
: any questions, passing another of the
    : guests.
: She wondered if this Beast-- she looked again
: on seeing the almost foppish way its hair
: was set, complete with little blue bows--
: if this Beast had overheard the
    : conversation.
