EO leaned against the wall next to the open doorway. She could keep an eye on the room where she stood, but yet be out of the way. She'd never been in a castle before, but the thrill of the new experience was overshadowed by what was going on now.Cole was attempting to help Terri, and he'd gone inside her mind and dreams to do it. There was something about this whole situation that made her uncomfortable however. It kept making her think about the initial duel between Professor Xavier and the man who would become the Shadow King. And that one had almost ended badly for Xavier.
Kimmy bursting into a wild fit of giggles brought a much-needed distraction, and EO regarded her with sudden suspicion. Typically when a Kender started laughing, it wasn't a good thing. And the tone of them brought to mind all the evil chuckles many of her DMs had given before pulling something.
Kimmy suddenly dashed out of the room, and EO was startled to hear her giggles turn into gales of laughter as clearly as if she were standing directly behind the departed Kender. EO cracked a smile; apparently her hearing was more acute in this form. A strangled gasp caused her gaze to snap to where Cole stood, dashing to him before she'd fully registered the desire to move.
With a suddenness that caught her off-guard Cole's body doubled in half, flying backwards with such force that she had to brace herself to keep her own balance as she caught him. Hoping belatedly that he wasn't a touch-telepath--he didn't need the added distraction her mind would cause--she held firmly onto Cole, keeping him from falling to the floor. She felt the hackles across neck and back rise; what had happened to Cole on the Astral Plane, that his body would be affected like this?
Knowing she could do nothing more than wait for what happened next, EO sighed and stayed where she was. At the very least she could keep Cole's body from getting battered and bruised by dropping to the floor.
'Don't worry Cole,' she found herself thinking, 'I'll keep your body safe.'
