    Re: Towards the swamp

Posted by Sterling Coleman on 8/28/2000, 6:04 pm , in reply to "Re: Towards the swamp"

Examining the woman from head to toe and noticing both Ashleyien and Cadbury's reaction to their new arrival; Sterling had to admit that while Tuculcha was absolutely bewitching, there was something about her that just wasn't right! He wasn't sure what it was, but his instincts were screaming at him that she was bad news! And then he hit upon who she was...or at least, who he thought she was!

Taking a deep breath, the Swordsman smiled at the young woman and said, "While my friends and I appreciate your offer, Tuculcha. I must agree with Ashleyien that we are going to have to decline your services. The path that we are on is quite perilous, and we cannot guarantee your safety. I hope you understand, but I am loathe to put you into harms way. I thank you for your offer nonetheless. What say the rest of you?" Looking over to Dan and Ral.

As his friends gave their answers to Tuculcha's offer, Sterling walked over to Ashleyien and addressed her saying, "Mademoiselle Ashleyien!"

It had been a long time since he had actually spoken conversational French, and the Drow hoped to God that Ashleyien would pick up on his broken Cajun-French dialect. Rembering from her Darkhaven bio that she was a native of Quebec, Sterling decided to try it anyway and hope that she could understand what he was trying to say.

Ashleyien looked up at him in surprise, while the Swordsman continued, "Elle est La Chanter de la Morte. N'allons en bayou! Vitement, mademoiselle, vitement!"

"I beg your pardon, my lord." inquired their would-be guide having received her answers from Ral and Dan. "What exactly did you say to HER?"
Implying the last word with a nasty tone in her voice.

"Nothing of consequence, Tuculcha, just a little banter betwixt friends." responded the Drow dismissing her question with a wave. He then walked over to Cadbury and offered his hands to the bunny. "Come on, Cadbury, come on." The rabbit leaped into his arms while the Swordsman gently rubbed the rabbit's tummy.

"There you go, little guy. Let's leave the mean, old nasty wizard behind!" said the Drow in a mockingly playful voice. Cadbury looked over to Thothalas and poked his tongue out at him.
