The rock settled beneath Dan's feet. "Hold on!" shouted the mage as he leaned back and the stone shot up to the monk. Not waiting for Ral to move, he grabbed his friends robes and sent the stone into the defile just as two bats tore the air where they had been. The mage felt a rustling at his side. He glanced over to see little Cadbury looking out and rubbing her eyes. Her yawn was interrupted when she noticed their danger, and a determined looked entered her tiny face.
