((DAISY DUKES? *Zak shudders empathetically* You're EVIL, Sterling!!))So chaotic and unexpected were all the happenings since she'd awoken that Zak was tempted to think that she was dreaming. Bubbles' attitude, while not unexpected considering her cambion nature and the interruption of her...er...goal, had taken her completely by surprise, as had Sterling's unexpected vendetta against herself. He must really think her haughty, Zak thought with something between bemusement and incredulous outrage as he ripped off yet another section of her clothing for binds. At this rate her own disguise
as a "prisoner" wasn't going to hold up- how could she get so ragged sitting in a prison cell?
Of course, once the building began to fall apart, the disguise no longer mattered. Zak shrieked as she dodged another falling chunk of masonry. She struggled furiously to get herself untied, but her struggling had somehow turned the slipknot into a real one (or else Sterling had been extra malicious about her binds...). Would they end up being trapped inside? she wondered, noting that KenderKimmy was trotting along beside her. She could escape, Zak tried to tell her, as Kimmy held a page with a portal to Yarfell. But Kimmy perhaps didn't remember, and Zak, being tied, couldn't remind her.
She watched in horror as Tommy vanished under a pile of masonry, leaving a gaping hole in the stairs.
((Just curious-- the falling ceiling bit that smushed Tommy and took out the steps- does that mean we can't get down...??))
Now there were guards menacing them from the foot of the stairs, as well, but Zak was too busy trying to keep her balance on the shaking floor without the use of her hands to notice.
