Rosalia winced inside as she realized she betrayed herself in her fear. She continued, "Wh-when I survive, what will you do to me then? Make a slave
out of me?" She held her breath and waited for his response.
"If Venger breaks you and discovers he has no use for your magic, then slavery will be a blessing. Do you think you will make a good one? I'm sure the guards would enjoy having you as a slave." Shadow Demon motioned the guards to get her.
The guards tentatively approached her, more afraid of Shadow Demon than the Storyteller.
Rosalia sighed with relief at his words and let the guards come. "I will never be a slave again," she told the demon.
Under her breath, she said softly, "Azzarathamian! Honor thy bargain and come to me."
There was an eruption of violet smoke and an elegant figure appeared. With a toss of his long dark hair, he made a graceful sweeping motion with his hands and the guards who had moved on Rose were flung aside like insects. Mortar and stone fell down to cover the doorway where Rose's shield had been and she let the smoke and illusion fade away.
"You called?" he inquired in his rich voice as he walked towards her.
She nodded, glad to see him. "By blood and bargain, I ask that you remove me from this place."
"You can not do that here!" Shadow Demon said, flying towards the intruder. It came to an abrupt stop as Amian turned around with an arched brow.
"Can't I?" he said with a haughty expression on his face.
"L-Lord Azzarathamian! I... I," Shadow Demon bowed before the demon lord.
Amian said smoothly, "I do apologize for tresspassing and usually I would not make such a faux pas, but I was summoned. And you know as well as I, that takes precedence over etiquette. Rosalia will not be Lord Venger's slave. Nor anyone else's. Come, beauty," he said and she did not chastise him for using the nickname.
Rose walked into his outstretched arms and as usual, buried her face into the heat of his neck. She knew where they would go when he transported them away and she did not want to see.
Amian smiled slightly at her habit and wrapped his arms protecting around her. "Do give Lord Venger my regards when you are able."
Rose clung to Amian, breathing in his slightly spicy scent and hoped that the others had made it out. Zakiyah could use her book to create a portal away from the fortress. She would meet back up with them when she could.
Shadow Demon flapped its wings in frustration. Venger would not be pleased to hear about this on top of everything else. "Venger will be sure to hear of your intrusion!"
Amian chuckled. "Of course. But I am certain he will forgive my actions as I am bound to the Storyteller by bargain. And your master knows all about bargains, does he not?"
Shadow Demon didn't respond and watched with the guards as the demon lord and the Storyteller vanished in a swirl of violet smoke...
((Rose will try to join back up with the group at a later date, due to a busy upcoming work schedule. I didn't want to hold anyone back while waiting for things to settle down here. Good luck and hope to be back with you all soon! *waves*))
