    Re: Welcome To My Parlor...

Posted by Cole the Mentalist on 8/22/2000, 12:38 pm , in reply to "Re: Welcome To My Parlor..."

The battle between Cole and the Treabor seemed to have been going on for hours. In truth it was probably closer the a few minutes. In that time, the demon who held Terri captive had been trying to subdue the mentalist who was sent in to liberate her from her slumber. Cole, in turn, seemed to be holding his own against the Treabor and its power. It was almost as if Cole was toying with the dream demon, as he knew it was underling of a more powerful entity. However, the Treabor finally seemed to gain the advantage as over two dozen denizens of the nightmare realm now surrounded Cole, awaiting the command of their lord.
"Looks like I'm gonna need some more fierce!" the mentalist exclaimed as he sized up his opposition. Cole always believed he had a pretty good imagination, luckily he discovered that he was able to tap into it here in the dreamtime, where the laws of physics didn't apply.
"Finish him!" the pale lord ordered. At the Treabor's command the creatures charged, pounced, and swarmed over the mentalist. The man in black didn't stand a chance, for it seemed the creatures ripped him to shreds. When the Treabor ordered them to relent, he saw that nothing remained of Cole save chunks of bloody flesh, broken bone, an a tattered costume soaked in crimson. The demon cackled in delight as he believed he gained final victory over the mentalist.
"Whoa, what happened to that guy?" a voice asked from behind the throne where the pale demon sat.
"NO!" the demon roared as he rose from his seat, turning to see Cole Del Tigre, who looked no worse for the wear, "HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS?"
"What can I say, I'm a leftie. Fear us." Cole answered. The first part of his plan, angering the Treabor, seemed to be working out fine. Now if only Cole could think of a way to vanquish him and then free Terri, he'd be in business. Coming up with something fast, Cole pulled out a remote control of some sort with a single red button on it. "Now release Terri, OR ELSE!" Cole threatened the demon, his finger on the button.
"Or else wh-" the demon began to remark only to be cut off by Cole.
"THIS!" Del Tigre answered, pushing the button. A low hum could be heard from outside the structure Cole, Terri, and the Treabor were located. Less than a second later, a blue beam of energy from the laser satellite the mentalist created outside of the edifice blasted through the ceiling, incinerating the Treabor where he stood. With the demon apparently gone, Cole tried to wake the dreamer and break the chain which was around her neck. Suddenly, he saw the chain begin to glow and the malicious laughter of the dream lord echoed throughout the dreamscape. "Okay Terri, you can wake up now!" Cole said as he struggled to break the chain, seeing the Treabor rematerialize only a few steps from his throne, both swords in hand.
"I tire of this little game, Zarpathos-scion." the dream demon said wielding the broadswords menacingly in his hands. "Haven't you realized there is no way that you can defeat me in this place."
"Oh, now I get it. Duh!" Cole said "Thanks, Treabor! Of course, I can't beat you here," he said turning towards Terri, "but I bet she could, though she probably hasn't realized it. Yet!"
With the mentalist's sudden epiphany , the Treabor's eyes widened realizing Cole had came upon the way to defeat him. The Treabor immeadiately charged Cole, running him through with one of his broadswords. The pale lord moved so fast Cole wasn't able to come up with a way to prevent it. Now the mentalist was suffering the consequence for angering the Treabor. "Not healing...why isn't it healing?" Cole said as he was now laying in a pool of his own blood, trying to remove the demon's sword from his abdomen. "TERRI!" Cole yelled, desperately trying to get through to the dreamer "BREAK THE CHAIN! YOU CAN DO IT! HE'S JUST A TOOL!"
"She is mine now, Zarpathos-scion, and soon," A wicked smile came upon the lips of the pale lord as he spoke, "very soon, you will be, too!"

: Fairalin focused her mind and perhaps as a bit
: of help her magic, there had to be
: something she could do.... but what? She
: didn't have the magic to fight a full
: fledged dream demon did she? She would
: have to use her mind, she had no way of
: going into Terri's, that was Cole's forte
: so what? Suddenly it came to her and she
: called out as loud as she could weave a
: bit of magic into her voice and hoping
: Cole would hear from inside Terri's head
: "Cole! Ask it if it like riddles!
    : I've got an idea!"

: The place in which Cole found himself
    : was
: at the foot of a marble dais which led up
: an impressive flight of stairs to a throne
: made of the finest platinum. Around him
    : was a room with a high-vaulted ceiling
: made of gold lined with a silver trim, and
: sitting on the throne was an albino human
: with deep blood red pupiless eyes. The
: figure also wore a suit of gleaming white
: plate armor and had two broadswords
    : strapped onto his back.
: As the Demon sat on his throne and
: surveyed the new arrival, he casually took
: his right hand and wrapped it tightly
: around a chain that was attached to a
: silver collar latched around Terri's neck.
: The poor girl had seen better days. She
: was lying on the steps before the Demon
: wearing a dark blue version of a lady in
: waiting costume and took no notice of
: neither her rescuer nor her captor.
: Looking both wasted and exhausted, The
: Dreamer gave a slight groan of pain as a
: ribbon of golden energy flowed from her,
: through the chain attached to her collar,
: and into the Demon itself. As the energy
: reached him; the creature rolled its head
: back, basking in the energy it consumed,
: and nodding its head with approval.
: Smiling at Cole the Mentalist, the
: creature finally addressed him in a
    : cruelly wicked voice,
: "I am The Treabor, Lord of this Realm.
: And who, pray tell, are you?" The
: creature began to lick its lips in
: anticipation, wondering if the life
: essence of this new arrival would be just
: as sweet as the maiden's own.
    :
    :
    : : "Iris, I believe I have just
: encountered the entity responsible for
    : Terri's condition." Cole whispered
: into his mic-headset. The mentalist then
: cleared his throat before answering
: Treabor. "*Ahem* I am Cole Del Tigre,
: mentalist. I have come here to retrieve
: the young girl you hold prisioner. Let her
: go, creature, or God help me I will kick
    : your-"
: "I am the only god here!" Treabor
: bellowed from high atop his throne, not
: impressed by Cole's manner. Then with a
: simple hand gesture by the dream demon,
: the floor Cole stood shook as tendrils
: burst from the ground ensnaring the
: mentalist. "Your spirit is strong,
: but you are a fool to think you can beat
: me here, in my own domain."
: "Of course I think I can beat you,
    : you're just a demon. Besides," the
: man in black continued "I thought
: that this was Terri's 'domain,' aren't we
: both in her mind!?!" The tendrils now
: pinned the mentalist to the ground and
: continued pulling as if to quarter him.
: "Ooh big scary demon has to pick on a
: young girl, and on top of all that your
: just someone else's lackey!" Cole
: reminded Treabor, laughing at the dream
: demon as the tendrils pulled tighter.
    : "SILENCE!!!" Treabor yelled, Cole's
: last insult apparently getting to him.
: "Once I break you spirit," the
: demon threatened Cole "I shall feed
: on your dreams as well!"
: "Not likely." Cole smiled before
: liquifying himself(!)and sliding free of
: the tendrils' grasp, reforming himself a
    : short distance away. "Freaky,
: huh?" the man in black continued.
: "So do you have anything else you
: want to throw at me or do I just slap you
: around a lot until you give Terri
    : up?"
