Thothalas sought the serenity within in order to power the spell that was already taking shape in his mind. He could see the intricate play of mystic energies, the interlockings, and necessary repulsions. The bats' cries touched his flesh body but his spirit would pay no heed. Hovering with an expectant aire before the cringing mage, the rock waited patiently to descend as was first intended.
Thothalas toyed with the idea of claiming he meant to do all that to buy them time, but lying never helped anyone.
"Hang on! We're on our way down! Come on, Ral!"
Holding on to his satchel, Thothalas leapt atop the rock. He felt Cadbury still curled up within the leather.
"Silly rabbit," thought the mage.
