"Krys!" Iris called. The Highland Xena turned to see her companion in a floating gossamer gown as softly coloured as a rainbow, carrying her lute, which had been polished until it shone. Her hair flowed over her shoulders in soft waves, the silvery lock gleaming amidst pastel streaks that covered all trace of her chocolate-brown tresses. She still retained her golden belt with its enameled daggers, but had reversed her cloak so the golden side was out. She had chosen makeup instead of a mask as well, borrowing not only the temporary hair colour but some face paint from Zeo, creating the rainbowy hair and a rainbow slash across her face to match her gown.
"I'm going to be performing with the other entertainers tonight." She indicated the minstrels' gallery above the dance floor and the page standing by a tapestry below depicting a string quartet, standing ready to relay messages or refreshments to the performers via the staircase hidden behind the tapestry. "Her Majesty's Royal Chamberlain said she wanted to hear me. I'm open for requests, in case you want anything suitable for matchmaking." She smiled. "I've got to confess I think Hank and Sheila make a perfect couple, and if it weren't for his duty-over-joy attitude they'd have married ages ago, I'm sure."
