"Witness the event for posterity?" Kryschenn laughed. "That's what Zak's here for! Can you imagine someone a thousand years from now going back and reading her notes on this evening? But seriously, we are going to try Cassandra's idea first. Then, and only then, do we try to make Sheila jealous. And keep that shield handy," she added. "Cole's trying to make Hank jealous so we think he might need someone to cover him, if all goes according to plan. Sick, huh? If we succeed in our plan, then we make them both jealous and our reward for a plan well done is to get the crap kicked out of us."
She smiled, then looked off in the direction of the large, ornate chair at the head of the banquet table. Kryschenn's mind was racing in several differnt directions, and a big concern was meeting the princess. though the matchmaking was a fun diversion, she was not going to lose track of the quest: they had to try to find out why the princess was ready to just hand over the city to Venger. Did she even know about the staff, or the orb that Cassandra had found?
Well, here goes, she realized, as more guests started coming down the hall to the ballroom. The princess would probably make an appearance later as the party got into full swing.
