Thothalas stared at the new arrival over his spell book and almost muttered aloud the spell he'd been memorizing; only Cadbury's furry paw stuffed in his mouth stopped him. The bunny wiped his forehead in exasperation and eyed Tuculcha with a steely gaze. The wizened furball did not seem to take to this mysterious beauty and almost hissed like a cat when Thothalas drop him to deliver a courtly bow."My lady," said the young mage, "no doubt your knowledge is superb..." He seemed to be trying to remember something, "But I have a new map given me by young Tombin of Blossum. He assures me that..."
"Tombin, such a sweet young boy," cooed the young woman. "He wants so much to be a hero. No doubt he was over anxious to impress such a group of hard, stalwart adventurers such as yourselves... and the girl."
"Well," muttered Thothalas, smoothing his ponytail, "I don't know about stalwart, but we can hold our own if you know what I mean. Ow!"
Cadbury did not seem the least bit sorry for biting the mage on the shin, but the wound did seem to take some of the strut out of Thothalas' swagger. The bunny scurried behind a nearby tree and continued to watch Tuculcha with lowered eyes and a growl in his throat.
"Excuse my walking lunch, my lady. The beast can't recognize a helping hand when it is offered."
