Kryschenn had given up on ever looking beautiful for the costume ball. None of the dresses she'd tried really fit her, and too late, she saw Cassandra's idea for a great makeshift gown. Instead, not knowing what else to do, Krys had opted for "sexy in a Xena-the-Warrior-Princess sort of way." Off had come the tartan cape and the muslin underblouse, and she had redone the lacing of her sleeveless leather tunic to make for some rather interesting decolletage. Although she kept her knee-high boots and bronze greaves, she had traded the leather leggings for a short, kilt-like leather loincloth (and no, she was not about to say what she wore underneath it.)
She was also shining with an abundance of silver Celtic knotwork jewelry that she had borrowed from Zeo's backpack, along with a blue eyeliner pencil. Apparently she'd fooled everyone into thinking she was going to get all dressed up and made up; instead, she'd used the eye pencil to draw Celtic war paint on her bare arms and had stencilled a mask of sorts around her eyes. Her sword was still at her side, she had added a targe* that she'd gotten who-knows-where, and she carried her bagpipes with an intent to stash them somewhere safe and play if the party ever got that wild.
"I was just explaining to Cole, I am Bouddacea, warrior queen of Eire," she said, referring to her costume, "who with her daughters led her people in rebellion against the Roman invasion. What do you think?" She shifted her tunic around to adjust her cleavage, realizing that it actually was quite a provocative outfit, but the handkerchiefs she'd stuffed in her bra were beginning to itch. "If it comes down to it, I sure hope Hank likes powerful women. Guys like Xena, don't they? And it will make Sheila think she has to fight the competition a bit." She grinned gamely, wondering if she was completely off her rocker and had better just find a beautiful gown a.s.a.p. "I still have time to change if it's too scary."
